# dsh-public-apis

**The public-apis catalog wired into DeepSeek Harness — search 1716 free public APIs and call any of them.**

Bundles a snapshot of [public-apis/public-apis](https://github.com/public-apis/public-apis) (1716 APIs, 51 categories) and exposes it to the agent as two tools.

## Tools

| Tool | What it does |
|------|--------------|
| `public_apis_search` | Filter by keyword, category, auth, https or cors; returns matching APIs with name, description, auth/https/cors **and the url** |
| `public_apis_categories` | List the 51 categories with the entry count each |

## Install

```sh
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-public-apis
```

Then the agent can find any free public API and — using its url — call it with a generic HTTP tool (curl, dsh-http-tools).

## Usage

```
public_apis_search(query: "weather", auth: "No", https: "Yes", cors: "Yes", limit: 5)
public_apis_categories()
```

Search is offline (the catalog is bundled), so it costs nothing. Ideal for "what free API does X?" — the agent looks it up, gets the url, and calls it.
